The creative industry has demonstrated its resilience alongside contributing towards economic and social impact. It has a pivotal role in shaping cultural identity and fostering social inclusion.
This vital sector provides a platform for diverse voices and stories, promoting cultural understanding and empathy. Through various programmes, they contribute to both economic and social development by providing job opportunities, empowering minority groups, preserving culture and heritage, as well as encouraging community engagement through cultural events and activities which in the long run helps build more cohesive and resilient societies.
With an abundance of initiatives and achievements made by the creative industries, how do they measure the impact? In what way should we showcase it? And how do we attract more investment towards the creative industries?

Introducing “Timeout“: Tailored for the innovative and digital thinkers among us. Much like a strategic timeout in team sports, Timeout invites you to momentarily halt the hustle, gather with like-minded individuals, and collaboratively map out your next moves. Take a breather, reset your mindset, and immerse yourself in curated discussions tailored to your distinctive perspective. This intentional pause is your opportunity to recharge, foster connections, and kindle the sparks of inspiration for your next breakthrough.
Introducing “Ekraf Academy”: a capacity-building initiative specifically designed for practitioners and creative entrepreneurs. Facilitated by the government and in collaboration with international institutions, this program aims to help participants obtain international certification through short courses to enhance their skills with materials and learning modules that align with the creative economy developments globally.
Introducing “ASEAN-UK Advancing Creative Economy”: Aims to strengthen the creative economy of ASEAN member states through collaboration with the UK, focusing on professional development, knowledge exchange, and building networks of policymakers and creative practitioners in both regions. The initiative is co-funded by the UK’s Foreign, Commonwealth and Development Office and the British Council, and it is delivered in partnership with the ASEAN Secretariat. The initiative aims to support the implementation of the objectives outlined in the ASEAN Socio-Cultural Community Blueprint 2025 and the ASEAN Strategic Plan for Culture and Arts 2016-2025.
